Catalyst is a specialist commercial architecture, design and project management company with a highly-respected reputation - throughout New Zealand for delivering high quality design solutions for a number of commercial, government, retail, hospitality and office projects and delivering results on time and within budget. 

Due to an increase in workload, we are currently looking for an accurate and motivated Intermediate Designer to work on a variety of commercial projects from the Auckland office. 

Responsibilities in this role will include contributing towards the design of workspaces, preparing drawings which meet specifications and health and safety requirements – according to the client’s brief and within the time and budget.

The successful applicant will require the following:

  • Minimum 3 years NZ design experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in Interior or Spatial Design, Building Sciences, Architecture or equivalent
  • Able to utilise/form As Built measurements
  • Previous experience designing retail & hospitality projects, as well as commercial office space to support our current team
  • Design confidence to work through a project in its entirety - from initial concept design through to full documentation
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards
  • Experience in Revit (must have experience), AutoCAD, Photoshop (Beneficial), Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced level), Specification writing (Advanced level)
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills
  • Great time management skills and driven to meet strict deadlines – results oriented
  • Be self motivated, proactive, use initiative, ability to prioritise, work individually and as part of a team
